Using Stratux with EFB Apps
Once your Stratux ADS-B receiver is assembled and configured, the final step is integrating it with a Stratux compatible EFB (Electronic Flight Bag) app such as ForeFlight, FlyQ, or FltPlan Go. These apps connect directly to the Stratux Wi-Fi network and display real-time traffic, weather, GPS, and attitude data.
Supported EFB Applications
Stratux works with most iOS and Android-based EFB apps that support ADS-B In.
- ForeFlight Mobile (iOS)
- Seattle Avionics FlyQ (iOS)
- FltPlan Go (iOS and Android)
- Avare (Android)
- Stratux Web UI (browser-based)
These apps automatically detect Stratux data if you are connected to the Wi-Fi network.
Connecting to Stratux from an EFB App
- Turn on your Stratux device and wait 10–30 seconds for the Wi-Fi network to appear.
- On your tablet or smartphone, go to Wi-Fi settings and connect to the
Stratux
network. - Open your EFB app. Most will detect Stratux automatically.
If not, go to the EFB app’s settings > devices section and select or manually configure Stratux as the data source.
Traffic and Weather Display
Once connected, your EFB should show traffic and weather overlays similar to a certified ADS-B receiver:
- Traffic targets will appear relative to your GPS position
- Weather (METARs, TAFs, radar) will update based on received UAT broadcasts
- GPS location is supplied by the onboard GPS module

AHRS and GPS Features
If your Stratux includes an AHRS unit, it can provide basic attitude and heading information:
- Synthetic attitude indicator in compatible EFBs
- “Set Level” calibration button aligns the horizon
- GPS and AHRS overlays are visible in apps like FlyQ and Stratux’s internal web UI

Common App Integration Issues
- No data showing? Confirm the app is connected to Stratux Wi-Fi and not using cellular.
- GPS position not updating? Check GPS lock status on the Stratux Web UI.
- Traffic not appearing? Make sure you’re receiving 1090ES or UAT data (visible on the status page).
With your EFB connected, your Stratux unit is now fully operational — offering a complete, portable traffic and weather system for your cockpit. Next, let’s look at a few add-ons and features you may want to consider.
